David’s Insight on “Seaside"
Pigeon Point Lighthouse has guided ships in the Pacific Ocean along the rocky California coast since 1871. The tallest lighthouse on the West Coast, it stands at 115 feet just South of San Francisco Bay. Its name was derived from the ship "Carrier Pigeon" that wrecked off the coast in 1853, prompting the need for a guiding beacon. This California Historic Landmark is captured here with a 5-minute automated frame average at sunset, creating a classic coastline scene.
