David’s Insight on Badwater Besin 2024"

Badwater Basin, in Death Valley, the lowest point in North America, at a depth of 282 ft below sea level, is famous for its saltwater flats. Hurricane Hilary flooded the lake in August 2023, creating a very rare shallow lake that persisted for almost 6 months. Captured from Dante’s View, this frame averaged photo shows the incredible size of the accumulation ringed with salt from evaporation. This image was captured from Dante’s View, sitting almost 1,700 meters in height at sunrise on a cold January day. Brrrrr…
